Give way sign obscured and road markings missing

The give way sign at this intersection is obscured by the hedge and the road markings traveling in the northerly direction have entirely rubbed off. I was driving on this road and went over the junction thinking it was my right of way. It wasn't until I saw the road markings on the opposite side of the road that I realised I had gone through a junction. It was lucky no-one was coming and I feel this is an accident waiting to happen.
