Culvert under road blocked and structure damaged

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14151949.

A tree off my neighbour's field fell down a couple of weeks ago. Highways arranged for contractors to clear the lane but the culvert that takes the water under the road is completely blocked on the inlet side. The structure of the culvert has also been substantially damaged on the outlet side as are the safety barriers on the inlet side.

  • .Severe flooding due to blocked culverts.About 12 inches fast flowing water coming through my gateway and causing damage. Our central heating is broken and repair man to visit but will not now be able. We are both in our 70's and classed as vulnerable

  • Further serous flooding has occurred this weekend. A plan to alleviate the problem was agreed with Highways in December 2022 but no action has yet taken place. Part of the proposed work was to "locate, uncover and repair the two gullies to the east of our driveway and to log On Kaarbontech so they are maintained in the future". No work has been carried out to date. This weekend's problems have been more severe as builders working on a development next door seem to have permanently covered one of these gullies and blocked the other. I await your response.
