Two young clumps of Japanese Knotweed

Reported anonymously at 13:49, Wed 29 April 2015

Sent to Shropshire Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 627792.

Growing close to the centre of a much neglected field, by the base of a large solitary ash tree in a property owned by an absentee landlord. The field is positioned behind The Barns, off the A49, and has an application for house building. My understanding is that knotweed should be eradicated prior to any building. I have reported this to the Parish Council.

Updates

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 17:38, Wed 27 May 2015

  • No interest or action has been activated by either County or Parish Councils - to the best of my knowledge. I have heard from neither.

  • I reported this 'infestation' to our parish council and to Shropshire Council. Typically I have had no acknowledgement from either council - nor any progress information.
The only good thing to have emerged is that the field has now been largely cleared of building materials and mown - after many years of neglect.
