Warning sign not visible in overgrown hedge

Sent to Shropshire Council 5 minutes later. Council ref: 14150656.

The sign warns of a concealed entrance on the left at the brow of the hill above the sign. The sign is obscured by an overgrown hedge and tree branches. The sign is in a currently unoccupied property.

The sign was installed because of a number of near misses. The bend in the road obscures the view downhill from the concealed driveway.

  • The sign is more visible but still remains partially obscured by the hedge when close up. More importantly it is not visible when driving up the road as the height of the hedge below it fully obscures it. It is only possible to see the sign when driving right past it - if the driver who hasn't seen it up until that point bothers to look to the left as they pass.
