Previously reported problem is now blocking fire hydrant
Reported via mobile in the Cultivating or Planting on a Verge category anonymously at 10:30, Tue 9 July 2024
Sent to Shropshire Council 2 hours, 6 minutes later. Council ref: 14150570.
There is an ongoing problem with weed growth alongside the ford by Worthen brook. Normally cut down twice yearly but work was suspended for environmental investigation. The growth has now reached the point where the fire hydrant is obscured and we are unsure about access to the hydrant itself. Also reported to Shropshire fire and rescue as a potential safety issue.

Extremely quick response by Shropshire fire service resulted in a technician visiting the site within hours of making contact with them . The fire hydrant sign, re painted and the hydrant itself located under soil and vegetation which has been allowed to grow. This still leaves the issue of overgrown vegetation running down the full length of the verges along Brookside leading up to Millstream.
