Flooding due to defective drainage
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14149596.
Please see the below outstanding since February 24 although being marked as complete. It would be helpful to have a conversation with someone about this-if need be we can come to a mutual understanding regarding cost to rectify this issue. It need to be sorted out before winter I really do now want to tolerate/cope thith the flood damage that is likely to be repeated during the next period of wet weather. To reiterate- the water is from the highway In Soudley, all of it runs to the chamber on our land and from there to a large pond. The pipework to the pond is damaged. I am prepared to make a reasonable contribution to the cost of repairs as it's our place that suffers the inconvenience during periods of wet weather.
Previous below: It was suspected by your crew that pipework taking highway water over our land to a pond via an underground pipe installation has collapsed at some point on our property. Whilst this pipework is on our property, as the installation is certainly for highways and not connected to Shawbroom Farm,then if unserviceable it will need to be repaired or replaced.
I would like to be on record that the drainage as far as the pond, conveying road surface water from the highway is the responsibility of the highways department to correct. Thanks again for the excellent service today!

I agree with it in part, however the portion of flooding attributed to the water from Hopshort lane including the run off from higher up the road at Monkey Socks junction, must be the responsibility of the council. The gullies on the highway do not belong to Shawbroom Farm but are discharging water onto our property with no regard to the damage caused.

Thank you for the last unhelpful "closed" response. Perhaps you could then help me with whose responsibility the water discharged from the highway council maintained gullies onto our property is please?
I have attached, for your information a photograph of the discharge from the chamber onto our property. The only purpose the chamber serves is taking water from the Soudley/ Hopshort/ Monkey Socks road drains.
