Speed concern - safety issue

Reported via mobile in the Other Highways issue category anonymously at 13:36, Thursday 13 June 2024

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14148755.

Further to Council ref: 14135076.

I am a parent of young children who also live in Forge Cottage. We have to walk up and down angel bank twice a day to drop off and collect my eldest child from the council provided bus to school.

The road is a 50mph road but motorists either don’t see the 50mph sign because it’s obscured in an overgrown hedge or they choose to ignore it and speed up the hill. I have a genuine speed concern outside our house and want the council to lower the speed limit.

The exit to/from Forge Cottage has poor visibility especially looking to the left up Angel Bank which is round the bend. It is dangerous to exit onto a 50mph with poor visibility in both directions.

Whilst there are currently no double white lines - overgrown hedgerows make visibility poor and overtaking unsafe. I would also appreciate consideration being given to double white lines being put in place from Bitterley lane down to the bends where they are already.
