Blocked Road Gullies and Drainage to front of Oak Cottage, Middleton Scriven, WV16 6AG

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14148591.
I wish to bring to your attention the above issue and seek the assistance of the Parish Council in the resolution of the problem by Shropshire Council. This matter was notified to “Fix my Street” on the 21st March 2022 Oak Cottage is situated on a narrow lane at a 90° bend to the font of a hill.
There is an open surface water drain leading to a drain at an entrance to Oak Cottage. This drain discharges into a road gully at a position below ground. This road gully is connected to another road gully once again below ground on the opposite side of the lane. This gully is further connected to a Catch Pit on the verge and outfalls into ditch. The road gullies and all underground drainage are blocked. Additionally rainwater and debris from the fields which discharge into the open surface water drain at a higher level at the top of this lane has collected, resulting in material being compacted at the start of the 90° bend. This material causes an adverse camber at that point such that the road gully at the far side of the lane is ineffective, resulting in the majority of the rainwater flowing down the lane during heavy rain and runs to the gutter at the side of Oak Cottage. These matters were all notified to “Fix my Street” who noted it as a dangerous situation. The increase in traffic through the Village (Couriers, deliveries etc.) increases the risk of an accident to road users. Yours sincerely, M.S.Hopkinson FRICS MCiArb APAEWE
