12 inch sink hole appeared in centre of road

This has suddenly appeared two days ago. It is over the line of where the roadside drain crosses the road. So the road will need digging up to repair the drain, rather than just refilling with tarmac. It is liable to suddenly increase in size, as you can see down the hole, and is potentially very dangerous as it is on a corner.

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.

    Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.

    In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.
