Bottle diggers

Reported via mobile in the Other Highways issue category anonymously at 15:38, Tuesday 4 June 2024

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14148072.

Greenfield community woods have once again been targeted by bottle diggers, they have left a huge hole, broken glass/pottery and damaged tree roots (trees have fallen). The whole site looks a mess and is unsafe for children and dogs using the area. Any laminated signs from the council saying that digging is not allowed are just ripped off and thrown to the floor. The diggers know they are not allowed as local people have spoken to them but they continue regardless. Shrewsbury town council now say to either report it to the police who do nothing or to here. This has been going on for years but now the site is covered in craters, large holes and damaged trees.
