Large pothole approx 14”wide and very deep in the driving lane of the A5 travelling from the A41 roundabout towards Cannock just before the Staffordshire border sign and opposite a field gate.
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14147532.
This deep and dangerous pothole has been there for several months but has now deepened considerably causing a hazard to drivers having to swerve either side of it to try and avoid wheel damage.

Good afternoon, I’m having to send a further report about the pothole/hazard I mentioned earlier this year, because i received a report that work has been arranged to repair it but it’s still outstanding, and yesterday a vehicle in front of me driving on this section of the highway swerved trying to avoid the pothole and almost collided with a vehicle on the opposite side of the road.

The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.
Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.
In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.
