The whole lane - Duddlewick Bridge Junction to Pickthorn Farm (Duddlewick hamlet) is becoming impassible

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway surface problem category anonymously at 14:25, Sun 7 April 2024

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14143318.

The lane is subsiding in parts, and consists of a series of multiple potholes which are impossible to miss. It is not possible to drive more than 3-5 mph over most of the lane.

  • I agree that some work has been done on this lane, but it is of poor quality and the lane is still difficult to drive along as it is full of holes and lumps. The holes that were filled are starting to disintegrate and by the autumn/winter we shall be back to where we were before. I reiterate again that the whole lane needs to be properly resurfaced with proper tarmac not loose chippings.

  • The attached photos were taken today; and I am sorry to state that the lane has not been repaired. Some were filled in May but nothing since. In fact, existing holes are now deteriorating and will only continue to worsen as the winter approaches. The whole of the road surface is down to the sub-base.

We should be grateful if you would please take notice of local residents in this matter, as there have been numerous reportings of this lane over the years and they have never been remedied satisfactorily. Thank you in anticipation.
