Romsley lane road surface extreme defects/road surface pot holes

Reported via mobile in the Road surface issue category anonymously at 18:41, Tue 5 March 2024

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14140081.

With the recent road closures on the A442 the diversion route on the whole length of Romsley Lane has taken its toll on the condition of the lane surface. This is a major issue where Romsle Lane meets the Worcestershire border all the way towards Alveley.

Prior to the closures the lane was already in some disrepair with the recent works of Severn Trent using Sham Lane, Romsley Lane as a means of getting to their pipeline using various types of vehicle along Romsley Lane and the last few weeks have now caused extensive damage to verges, driveway entrances and most importantly the road/lane itself with the additional closures of the A442.

There are a vast amount of dangerous pot holes, cracks in the roads, road edge defects and to add further insult the volume of traffic on such a lane has caused the lane to be a mud bath….. increasing flooded parts of the road, drainage issues to name a few!

The road is extremely dangerous to road users, including pedestrians and cyclists and it will only be a matter of imminent time something serious is going to happen and claims are going to be made.

Please can someone set Romsley Lane as an urgent priority to get this road back to normal?

Kind regards
