Large gauge in road surface

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway pothole category anonymously at 12:49, Saturday 24 February 2024

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14138838.

An area of road surface has clearly failed. There is a 2 metre long rectangular gouge in the road that it is located in the exact position within the lane that a front wheel would be on the road. It has a sheer, 15 cm drop at the end of the gouge, that is extremely dangerous. It is country road with people doing between 40 and 60 mph. We hit it at 40 and it obliterated the front left tyre. There is likely to be further damage to the car.
