People parking dangerously on the road
Reported via mobile in the Other Highways issue category anonymously at 12:46, Monday 1 January 2024
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14131439.
People are parking on this narrow lane causing danger to other users. There is a car park in Haughmond Hill - instead of parking in the allocated car park people have started to park on the lane and this is causing danger to local traffic, walkers and cyclists by reducing visibility. It is only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. Please could you stop people parking on this lane, thanks.

Adding another voice to these concerns. This parking is directly affecting the road surface by forcing all drivers in both directions to only be able to use the worst-affected bits of the road. Admittedly that’s vague, because the whole road surface is so badly affected (again) and I wonder if we would have better luck inventing a time machine to go and fetch some romans to fix it rather than waiting on the council to actually resolve these issues permanently.

Another voice of concern. This is a main route for the people of Somerwood, Rodington and surrounding areas in to Shrewsbury for doctors and shops etc. During the holiday periods, We are regularly struggling to use this road because of people parking inconsiderately.

Hi there, this problem is still going on with no update from yourselves. The Haughmond Hill is closed today due to high winds and people are still coming and parking along the lane making it dangerous for other users. With potholes along this road also being bad and dangerous, this is reducing our access to the main road and to the hospital route. Emergency services are also being affected. Please could you tell me what the Council is doing about this?
