Extremely dangerous pavement issue following non-stick surface on road

Since the corner of the road was resurfaced several weeks ago, the pavement is covered with the round stones used for the non-stick surface. It is like walking on marbles and as the pavement slopes down to the road in places, it won't be long until someone slips in front of a car (which are now traveling around the corners at higher speeds due to the new high-friction surface). Several people have already slipped and my daughter sprained a ligament in her knee this evening as the surface is lethal when wearing school shoes; if I hadn't been holding her hand, she would have gone straight into the road. This needs dealing with as a matter of urgency, it is the only pavement on this section and stepping into the road on a fast blind corner is even more unsafe.
