Overgrown area - rodent control

Im the operations manager at Shropshire Wildlife Trust and I’m making an enquiry regarding a piece of land that is adjacent to 193 Abbey Foregate. Our pest control company have noticed that there is quite a few rat burrows in this area and have suggested that this area be cut back to help with the control of the rats. Is this something that can be done?
