Poor visibility at junction
Reported via desktop in the Verge/Visibility problem category anonymously at 19:58, Mon 6 March 2023
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14108914.
Where path from Pensfold shops joins Gains Avenue, the trees are close to or often over the kerb. With parked cars nearby, and buses, this exit is dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. The west half of the triangular area west of Orchard Cottage's garden should be cleared. More trees could be planted elsewhere.

I reported this to the previous local councillor who replied that the bushes could not be cut during the bird nesting season and that no accidents have been reported due to the state of the hedges so it is likely nothing will be done.
Does someone have to be killed or seriously injured before it is realised this cycle and pedestrian route falls well below the national guidelines on visibility at junctions with roads?

With schools due to reopen in the next few weeks, once again this junction will be busy with new and excited children but visibility remains very poor and signage to warn road users of the crossing point is all but obscured by the over grown bushes - if the council have decided the junction requires a warning sign, why are steps not taken to ensure it remains visible?!

The status has changed to "FIXED" but nothing has been done - the sign is still obscured, and the visibility at the junction is still severely impaired.

It is not fixed. Nothing has been done. The foliage projects over the road by 500mm today.
