Footpath need to be wider
Reported via desktop in the Other Highways issue category anonymously at 14:04, Wed 22 February 2023
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14108120.
I am requesting that Shropshire Highway’s inspect and take action regarding the extremely narrow pedestrian footpath adjacent to the former Eagles in Cressage. The footpath is on the east side of the A458 on a particularly dangerous bend in Cressage just to the south of the War Memorial and Sheinton Road junction. The footpath narrows to under 0.5meters on this bend and is not wide enough for a buggy, dog walker or mobility Scooter. There has been a recent planning application for housing development on th e former car park and the applicant states that there is no need to adjust the footpath as it has not been an issue for Shropshire Highways. I hope that action is taken urgently to inspect the footpath in question and reroute the footpath to the back of the former Eagles pub onto theSheinton Road. The number and size of vehicles, lorries with trailers and tractors going at speed along this stretch of the road make this exceptionally dangerous. I look forwards to your response.
