All markings worn away on mini roundabouts

Reported via iOS in the Markings missing/defective category by Cllr Julia Buckley at 20:37, Wed 8 February 2023

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14107216.

No line painting marking left on the mini roundabout between Smithfield and Northgate. It is very dangerous as not obvious and vehicles travel very fast. Dangerous as many secondary school children cross here

  • I visited the site yesterday with the traffic engineer. We witnessed vehicles swerving over the spaces as the right of way was not clear. On 2 of the places where traffic islands used to be, they now resemble a T junction, with different rights of way. We also observed a pedestrian trying to cross. It is incredibly dangerous. When can you give us a date please to repaint these islands? they were reported in February 2024 and we have repeatedly reported the serious risk of traffic accident due to the lack of road markings. I believe the Council will be liable should there be an accident during this exceptionally long period of delay to this maintenance request.
