Sucken Verge with multiple road incidents
Reported via desktop in the Other Highways issue category anonymously at 09:23, Tue 7 February 2023
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14107058.
The Sucken Verge along a hedge on the A53 just passed Albrightlee House heading south was first reported in March 2021. The drain by the sucken verge was looked at by Traffic Management in April 2022. We have had numerous vehicles going off the road into sucken verge and has destroyed hedging and fencing. We have made 2 insurance claims from 2 previous accidents and we are now in a position where it is not possible to claim for damage to the fence and hedge. I was informed that a WSP Action/Safety Measures was in place for the A53 however it appears this did not involve our section of the road. We are worried for peoples safety on our side of the hedge along with drivers of vehicles.
