Leaves & detritus covering road surface & blocking drains
Reported via desktop in the Detritus category anonymously at 15:37, Thu 2 February 2023
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14106645.
Since the planters were installed on New Street, the road hasn't been cleaned. It is covered in matted, dead leaves from Water Lane to the Boathouse pub. The drainage slots are blocked, as is the drain outside nr. 58 New Street. I have cleaned the street myself a couple of times, but there has been no attempt by the council to do so. I don't think the road-sweeping machines can get between the planters, but as the council put the planters in, they need to find an alternative solution - in wet conditions the street is filthy and unpleasant.

I have seen this reply before when I raised the same issue, and nothing happened, which is why the street is so bad - it hasn't been cleaned since the planters went in. Can you please advise when it will be done. Also, the grids are blocked - if there is a heavy rainstorm the road will flood, and water will come under my front door. This is not acceptable - please ensure that this work is done as soon as possible.
