Overgrown path Ellesmere Road

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown Trees/Hedges category anonymously at 08:10, Thursday 26 January 2023

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14105874.

Please can the council come out and assess the path on the Ellesmere Road by Herongate near Winney Hill View. Every year I contact the council to request the overgrown hedge to be cut as it comes so far across the path it's dangerous to walk on. The traffic is mean to do 30 mph on this stretch of road but this is often broken. You just don't feel safe as the road narrows in that section and with the amount of HGV's that use that road too.

A part of the path has been cleared (I don't think by the council) but when this section ends the path is reduced to around 40-50 cm. The plants are already growing and as spring arrives this will only get worse. The hedges need taking back at least half a meter so people and esp family's can walk safely along it, at the moment a pushchair or wheelchair would find it difficult to navigate.

I have attached 2 photos but these don't show how many branches already stick out. I challenge a member of your team to stand on that section of path to stand there for 5 minutes to see how unsafe they feel.

I would be happy to meet a member of the council to personnel show them the issues with this road, as there are many dangerous spots but this one needs addressing as soon as possible.

I can be contacted by my e-mail or I can be called
