Road surface water running off road onto property
Reported via desktop in the Property flooding issue category anonymously at 19:59, Wed 23 November 2022
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14100791.
The road has been recently resurfaced and now causing road surface water to run onto our property along the drive and towards the house causing damp issues. Additional drains needs to be added and connected to water main in the road. Upon review drains have been incorporated on the opposite side of the road but now ours.

We've had Severn Trent carrying out trial holes, water main pressure testing and sampling. Their conclusion was the water is not mains water, but ground water (results upon request). They also reported along with neighbours, that the new build opposite have changed the flow of groundd water path when installing their cess pit and not redirected it towards our property. We now have water tracking across the drive and now damaging our property.

Since the new property has been built opposite, this problem has occurred. Looking at the plans of the property, it appears a new manhole has been installed (see photo's). Is this to manage the ground water by the cess tank? Which is positioned a couple of meters away. This is then tracking down across the road into our property.

Yesterday (13th October 2023) we received heavy rain all day, again this resulted in ground / drainage water running off the local area and roads onto our and neighbours drive and saturating the drive and property. This resulted in water entering our attached neighbour property and cause water damage. It has been reported for months now with no action taken, you will be receiving a call on Monday.

Can you please advise how this has been fixed? Sand bags (tempary measure) on the neighbours drive are still in place to prevent water entering their site. Once removed, this will still allow road water to run off the road onto his property. Why didn't the council contact us to review on their site visit
