Exceptionally dangerous road requires widening and realigning.

Reported via desktop in the Other Highways issue category anonymously at 15:01, Wed 28 September 2022

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14097125.

After returning to this area after a number of years I am extremely concerned and horrified by the dangerous situation of the road outside the properties at Soulton Villas. The road is on a 60mph limit but the speed of traffic along this road is frightening and made much worse by the bad corner where traffic is completely blind until they reach the corner. There have been some very serious accidents and injuries on the corner in the past. The traffic flow is made much worse by the large number of HGV’s which have to use this route, mostly at high speed, in order to get to and from the Lacon Industrial Estate. The photo attached was taken within 1 minute of being out there and shows two lorries narrowly missing one another. The refuse lorry was having to head into the verge to miss the lorry and because it was travelling too fast into the corner. The hedge needs to be removed and the road straightened and widened and while this could increase speeds that can be controlled by the introduction of a reduced speed limit. May I suggest your officers come and spend a morning or evening at the area just tops witness the dangers that occur and I am quite confident they would not hesitate to recommend that urgent work is required.
