Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14092454.
We are on the Alberbury Rd, SY5 9NA. I have 4 primary aged children (one pre school) and they cycle to school/walk at times. Our eldest (just 10) is also gaining independence cycling on her own. I frequently tow my 3 year old to Shrewsbury in the bike trailer.... The pavement does not start until Ford, A458. Thus, young children and other pedestrians have to walk and cycle along a 60mph road until they reach a pavement. Vehicles frequently go faster than this past our house, especially in the evening/early hours of the morning. I would like help to educate people that there are children here and there are pedestrians. May we have signage please? Please pass my query to the correct agency to help if it is not you. I would also like the road speed reducing to 40 maximum along our stretch - how can this be obtained please? 60mph is not a safe speed for families with children and pets. We are just after and before a bend too and cars open up, in terms of speed as they drive past.
Also, the pavement to Shrewsbury from Ford is horrendous and largely inaccessible; I have gained punctures on the trailer, moved wardrobe doors, meandered around glass, moved bottles - the debris and rubbish are huge hazards. And, as stated have damaged my trailer. The bus stop area near the round (Churncote) about to Sherwsbury has an extremely narrow pavement, the crossing from Shrewsbury to Ford B473 is on a blind bend and also between these two places the road sign is so narrow I just fit the bike trailer through - I can not cycle with a toddler on that busy road!
Please help with both issues above before an accident happens. I am happy to take you on a cycle to show you! Many thanks for your time. I look forward to your help and advice. Best wishes, Tamara Hayman-Bant The Hollies Alberbury Road Ford Shrewsbury SY5 9NA
