Streetlights not working
Reported via mobile in the Street Light Out category anonymously at 17:19, Fri 20 May 2022
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14089525.
The streetlight, number 1, in Hemsworth Way is not working (appreciating it is switched off at midnight) making this and the surrounding areas feel unsafe in the evening; particularly given the increase in antisocial behaviour here. It is worsened by the two consecutive lights on Ellesmere Road by the junction not working either, as reported before Christmas

Good afternoon I can see that lamppost no1 was reported on 20th May as not working. There are also lampposts no 33 and 44 are not working either. I also feel this is unsafe, the area is very dark and I would not feel happy having to walk down the street. The new lampposts that are now fitted, do not give out much light, so feel the 3 lampposts that are not working now, need to be replaced. Thank you.

We keep reporting these faults which have been ongoing since last winter. It is unsafe to walk home along Ellesmere Rd when it is dark. If someone gets attacked in these dark spaces who will be responsible?? Shropshire County Council??

All lampposts in Hemsworth Way apart from the one on the property of number 11 are not working, this is the 4th request to get these fixed, this has been going on now since before Christmas, thank you

This road is extremely dark & the cut through just past the School gate is really dangerous for pedestrians & cyclists as it’s so dark! We were out last night for a walk & had a near miss with a cyclist! The is a busy walk through & needs addressing

The status of this is showing as closed. Please can it be re-opened as not only does this streetlight still not work, but others on the same side of the road are not working also.

That is disgusting that no further action on these lampposts will be taken. Apart from the small lights on at Greenfields school there is no other lighting apart from the lamppost on the property of number 11 Hemsworth Way. Why tell us that the work will be carried out in your upcoming maintenance then advise that no further action will be taken. Perhaps if someone slips on wet leaves or anyone gets attacked, god forbid and they sue the council, something will finally be done…when it’s too late.
