Two traffic cones on the road opposite the gates to The Old Police Station

Reported via desktop anonymously at 11:51, Tue 3 August 2021

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2910882.

They tend to discourage passing vehicles from pulling over fully in this narrow street, meaning those passing on the other side of the road tend to mount the pavement.

This report is now closed to updates from the public. You can make a new report in the same location.

Updates

  • These cones are breeding. There are now three, and one is on the pavement. They're a hazard to motorists and pedestrians

  • They were still there this afternoon. They're a confounded nuisance.

  • These have been damaged - presumably by passing vehicles. Which means the vehicles might also be damaged. They’re a hazard to pedestrians and should be removed forthwith.

  • There are now three. When they're in the highway, passing vehicles are giving them a wide berth, resulting in cars coming in the opposite direction mounting the footway - never designed to carry the weight of vehicles - and putting pedestrians at risk

  • It appears that the Council will do nothing about these cones. If they're not the Council's whose are they? And what right have they to store them on the public highway, which is obstruction and a hazard to pedestrians and motorists alike.
